BwUniCluster3.0

The bwUniCluster 3.0+KIT-GFA-HPC 3 is the joint high-performance computer system of Baden-Württemberg's Universities and Universities of Applied Sciences for general purpose and teaching and located at the Scientific Computing Center (SCC) at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). The bwUniCluster 3.0 complements the four bwForClusters and their dedicated scientific areas.

Immediate Shutdown of HPC Login Nodes: 08.07.2026

Due to a critical security vulnerability, all login nodes of the HPC systems at KIT had to be taken offline immediately. What does this mean for you? Login access is currently unavailable – please refrain from further login attempts. Jobs already running in the queue are not affected and will continue as normal. New jobs cannot be submitted at this time. Deletion of workspaces has been disabled. Next Steps We are working diligently to resolve the issue and will keep you informed as soon as the systems are available again. The optimistic ETA for return to service is the beginning of calendar week 29. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.
